Health & Safety
The Company follows a rigorous Health and Safety policy conforming to all government and trade association regulations and guidelines for health and safety in the workplace.
A Safety Officer has been appointed by the company to coordinate all aspects of the policy, liaising with the appropriate representatives.
The Company has an excellent safety record, which has been recognised by the awarding of Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance shields.
VIEW POLICY
ZEMCO Limited is a registered Electromechanical Engineering Contractor in Cyprus and undertakes the construction, operation, maintenance and project management of Electromechanical works in both public and private sectors.
The Management and the employees of ZEMCO ELECTROMECHANICAL are committed to follow the measures needed to safeguard the safety of colleagues, guests and whoever is within the premises of the company and at the sites through the effective implementation of the relevant Health and Safety system.
The company has identified evaluated and established controls to eliminate the hazards that are associated with the company’s operations that may affect the safety of the employees or subcontractors.It covers all the activities of the company that occur.
The Management is responsible to ensure that the Health and Safety Policy is understood and implemented by all employees at all levels and complies with the company’s objectives.
This policy is reviewed periodically to ensure that it remains relevant and appropriate to the organization.
THE OBJECTIVES OF THE HEALTH AND SAFETY SYSTEM ARE:
- To provide the employees and subcontractors a safe environment to work in.
- To comply with the legal requirements and the Health and Safety policy.
- To prevent and or minimize accidents, ill health and injuries.
- Continual improvement of the Health and Safety management and performance.
- To document, implement and maintain the objectives of the Health and Safety systems.
THE COMPANY’S HEALTH AND SAFETY OBJECTIVES WILL BE FULFILLED BY THE:
- Ensure its understanding, implementation and maintenance of the system at all levels in the organization and is been understandable for all third parties.
- Ensure that all employees at all levels are appropriately trained and are competent to carry out their duties and responsibilities.
- Continuous review of the system procedures to check its compliance with the legal and system requirements, being relevant and appropriate to the organization, as well as the Health and Safety policy.
- Provision of adequate and appropriate resources to implement the policy.

The Group has total commitment to outstanding performance. In recognition, Zemco Construction Ltd and Zemco Ltd (Electromechanical) has achieved ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System accreditation.

- Maintenance of continuous improvement.
- Improvement of internal and external communication.
- Utilisation of company’s resources for efficient and effective results.
TO ACHIEVE THE ABOVE OBJECTIVES, IT IS ESSENTIAL TO:
- Continually educate and train the company’s personnel and define their level of authority.
- Measure, analyse and improve the effectiveness of the IMS
- management system and our operations.
- Provide a framework for establishing and reviewing IMS objectives. Keep in pace with all technology advances.
Environment
In all our dealings we will ensure that we provide environmentally friendly products and solutions that meet international standards.
The Group has accredited companies with an Environmental management system as per ISO 14001. In support of this we are in process to certified all the organization with an environmental management system.

ZEMCO ELECTROMECHANICAL recognises the social and economic importance of preserving the environment and is fully committed to complying with the national environmental requirements and the requirements set by ISO 14001:2004.
The company considers matters relevant to the physical, economic and social environment with great respect.
It is in close consultation with all the parties involved with the construction of its projects, in order to ensure that continuous improvement in environmental performance is accomplished.Employees will follow the requirements of the Environmental Management System in the performance of their tasks and will ensure this policy is supported, implemented and maintained.
This policy will be communicated to our customers and companies working for or on behalf of the company. It will also be made available to the public whenever requested.
IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN AND SUSTAIN THE COMPANY’S ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY, AND TO DELIVER SERVICES WITH MINIMAL IMPACT TO THE ENVIRONMENT WE ARE COMMITTED TO:
- Minimise any significant adverse environmental impact through the use of integrated environmental management procedures and planning.
- Comply with applicable legal requirements and environmental requirements to which the Company subscribes.
- Focus on prevention of pollution, waste minimization and resource conservation as critical considerations within our core management processes.
- Develop environmental performance evaluation procedures and indicators that provide the framework for setting and reviewing the environmental objectives and targets.
- Regular performance reviews to ensure that environmental objectives and targets and the requirements of Interested Parties are met and to ensure continuous improvement.
- Provide of staff training and education to ensure understanding, implementation and development of these principles throughout our business.
- Communicate this policy to all interested parties including customers, suppliers, subcontractors and employees and encourage their active involvement in environmental issues.
- Recovery and recycling as opposed to disposal, where feasible.
Premises, Plant and Equipment
Zemco Group operates from modern, purpose built, Head Office premises in Limassol, which also incorporates substantial warehouse and workshop facilities.
An extensive range of plant and equipment is available to undertake all construction activities. In addition, the Group operates an Asphalt Plant, located at Moni near Limassol.
